The Bristol USSSA league will feature all USSSA bats. We plan on running a fall league and this will feature USSSA bats PROVIDED by the league. Please plan accordingly when you are purchasing new equipment. We intended to do this for this current summer but apparently there was confusion by the managers who went and purchased more bats. Be aware that there will be no exceptions to this rule in Bristol moving forward (fall) on Sundays or during the week.
We will be using a slightly different ball this year. The past few years we have been using ASA standard balls and we will be switching to the USSSA standardized ball. This is a good ball and should not have an effect on HR’s. Next year or in the fall we will probably be switching to a different ball that has safety in mind first.
There will be less tolerance for unruly players. Arguing with umpires will not be tolerated. At the umpires discretion you will be ejected. Once I am notified I will contact the team manager and discuss the penalty for the player. Understand that the manager is responsible for communicating with the umpire, and not the player(s). The umpire will have the discretion to stop play and or forfeit a team if unruly behavior is determined.
Team League Fees (900$) Are due promptly. Please pay them beforehand so you get to play. They are expected the first week of May before you take the field.
Team Names and Rosters are due before you take the field. Please take a roster form and get it to me or use the address at the top to retrieve the form and email it to me.
Rainouts are not a ‘negotiable’ process. Once the field has deemed unplayable for the night, that is the call. We do not have a grounds crew that can take care of the field after 4pm. The call will be made before 5pm and team managers will be notified.
The schedule will be made in advance. Fridays are currently open days. If your team cannot make a scheduled day YOU must contact the manager and schedule a different doubleheader on a Friday. When you have gotten a proper time arranged with the other manager, contact me (make sure its not a THUR) and I will try to arrange an umpire. Otherwise your makeup games will be done at the end of the season before playoffs are initiated.
During the game, warm-ups are allowed during the first inning ONLY. After the first inning, its one throw (for the pitcher) and down. No infield warm ups after the first inning. Please hustle in and off the field……..
HR rule is as follows this year. 1 HR allowed per inning to a maximum of 6. If you do not get to 6 before the last inning, you may hit ALL of your remaining HR’s in the 7th inning. If you go to extra innings and have used 6 HRS, you may not hit more. Please ask the umpire if you need clarification.
USSSA team insurance is available for a small fee. If you have players on your team without insurance, this can protect them if they get hurt on the field. Please contact me and I will send you the information from USSSA.
